BCS Families—Due to expected winter weather in our area, Bladen County Schools will transition to an asynchronous remote learning day for Monday, January 26.

Asynchronous learning means that students will work independently on assignments that teachers have either posted in Canvas, Google Classroom, or will be sending home with students tomorrow, Friday, January 23. Staff will receive information regarding work schedule from their supervisors.

Additionally, all school buildings and district departments will be closed and there will be no events or activities held on Monday. A decision regarding school operations for Tuesday, January 27, will be made no later than 8 pm on Monday, January 26.

We appreciate your cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff, and we encourage everyone to closely monitor all communication channels for additional updates.

Please stay warm!

✨ Purpose Through Poetry at CSD ✨ Students at CSD experienced the power of words during our Purpose Through Poetry session led by Lost Voices Empire, LLC. Through spoken words and creative expression, students explored emotional intelligence, mental wellness, and important social issues in a meaningful and engaging way. This impactful experience encouraged empathy, self-reflection, and confidence - helping our students grow both emotionally and academically.

🪨 Rock Detectives on the Move! 🦕

Our Clarkton School of Discovery Rock Detectives had an exciting day at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences in Whiteville! Students explored Earth’s history, examined real fossils, and dug into big ideas like the geologic timeline, and the law of superposition.
They even got to create mold fossils and dig for their own fossils to take home as souvenirs! 🔍✨
We’re so proud of their curiosity, teamwork, and love for science. CSD is rocking Earth history, one discovery at a time! 🌍💛
